Queenie Spring Rolls
It wasn’t prize bulls, Manx lamb or the newest tractor that was the talk of this years Southern District Agricultural Show, no it was none other than the fantastic half shell Manx Queenies and Queenie Spring rolls that were cooked up in the Manx food court by none other than Tim Croft of Island Seafare.
Tim was there promoting the Queenie Festival and the Marine Day Festival of the Sea and boy oh boy did they taste good and were definatley the talk of the show ground over the weekend!
We have recently heard that due to demand Tim is now looking into a way of producing more Queenie Spring Rolls with the help of a food technician, so look out the next time you order a spring roll from a local Chinese restaurant! You know where you saw it first!

Tasty Half Shell Manx Queenies

How come the only info on this site is about Marine Day yet it says that the festival runs from 2nd-9th August? Please post more details about events in the queenie festive this week.
Hi Danny
The Queenie Festival is in it’s first year so we are trying to build the event gradually so we don’t bite off more than we can chew. Most of the festival this year is focussing on raising awareness by getting the Queenies out in to local shops, restaurants and pubs for the public to try and taste and the local recipe competitions that were running a few weeks ago. If all goes well then we will look to expand the event each year. Thanks for your comments though we will take them on board.
