Marine Day: A Festival of the Sea

Saturday 9th August 2008 11am – 5pm
On the Quay at Port St Mary

Do you remember the touch-tanks full of wonderful marine animals and seaweed that you used to see on the Manx Wildlife Trust Marine Day at the Port Erin Marine Biological Station?

Remember the illustrated talks and slide shows about the marine life around our shores?

Well it’s back: New, improved, and with a new venue!

The day will be fun filled and educational for all the family. There will be:

  • Marine touch tanks, with experts on hand to explain how and where the creatures live, where children and adults alike can get up close and personal with all manner of marine life.
  • Illustrated talks on basking sharks, seabirds, marine replenishment zones and much more.
  • Bouncy castles,
  • Face painting,
  • Competitions
  • The Hairy Bikers!
  • Cooking demonstrations.
  • plus much more

It is being held on the Quay in Port St Mary in and around Paddy’s Market and the Port St Mary Yacht Club. The map below shows the area.
