The Isle of Man Queenie Festival is an annual event held to celebrate one of the Island’s favourite local seafood, the Queen Scallop, or as it’s more commonly known on the Isle of Man, the Queenie.

The Queenie is fished from waters around the Isle of Man and has become somewhat synonymous with the Island, appearing on many menus in Manx restaurants. Queenies owe their popularity to their sweet taste, versatility and ease of cooking. They really are a healthy fast food option! So to celebrate the Isle of Man Queenie and to provide the perfect excuse to indulge yourselves, join us in our celebrations and enjoy some our finest locally caught Queen Scallops.

In 2008 the festival came to a climax on the Quay in Port St Mary for Marine Day. Marine Day was a huge success with a seafood barbecue, live music, cooking demonstrations by the Hairy Bikers, talks from Marine experts, face painting, Marine touch tanks and plenty more. We also announced the winners of the Queenie recipe competitions and we have to say received an impressive number of mouthwatering Queen Scallop recipes.
